The usual band line up (depends upon availability of individuals):
Pete R comes from Essex, as you’ll hear from his accent, and brings with him a wealth of experience in the folk arts, including being a whiz on the ‘diatonic button-keyed accordeon’ or ‘melodeon’. We caught him dressed in women’s clothes at Christmas, but let him off when we realised he was playing the Butcher’s Wife in a traditional Mumming Play!

Sharon is a trained violinist and plays violin and viola for us, She used to be principal violist in the Hitchin Concert Orchestra after picking up piano, viola and clarinet at music college. Very clever gal, our Sharon. We do try very hard, if unsuccessfully, not to pull her leg too much about being a viola player.

Laura was dying to play flute after deciding, aged 12, that her friend’s sister looked cool playing one. She managed to stick with it despite a teacher trying to sidetrack her into bassoon. We’re glad she did. She plays a flute descant or the tune itself for Hannibal’s Heroes. Laura plays every year for the Stamford College Players.

Fiona: Fi got fed up with violin at school and completely gave up playing music till folk, skiffle and rock tempted her back. She now sings and plays with punk folksters Lying Scotsman and comedy duo the Jam Tarts (and anyone else who asks nicely), and is our very own jobbing guitar-thumper from Stamford, Lincs. Watch her desperately counting to four, or three…... She’s the only one who doesn’t get to play the tune at all!

Pete S calls the dances and writes most of the band’s arrangements. He teaches fiddle, melodeon, mandolin, tenor banjo, guitar & ukulele and also runs the Peterborough Folk & South Lincs Folk Diary, which lists all the acoustic music things going on in South Lincolnshire, Peterborough, East Northants, North Cambs & West Norfolk, which can be found at http://www.peterboroughfolkdiary.org.uk
